YOGA
Gentle Hatha Yoga- This is the perfect class for those new to yoga. It is a slow-paced class that allows each participant to comfortably and correctly learn the basics of yoga. Special attention is given to breathing, relaxing, and meditating. Tea and cookies are served afterwards.
Basic Flow Yoga- Learn the basic techniques of vinyasa flow yoga. This class allows the newbie to yoga to ask questions and focus on correct alignment of basic asanas (poses). Tea and cookies are served afterwards.
Express Yoga- Only have a lunch hour to fit in a yoga practice? This class will move quickly from warm-up, sun salutations, to savasana to accommodate your busy schedule. Tea and cookies are served afterwards.
Pre-Post/Natal & Baby Hatha Yoga- Join other moms in the local area for basic hatha yoga. This class is tailored to pregnant and new moms to increase abdominal and pelvic strength and flexibility. Babies up to 12 months are always invited to join the class. Tea and cookies are served afterwards.
Level I Yoga- This class will keep you constantly moving through the basic positions of vinyasa yoga while providing assistance for proper alignment. It is recommended that participants have knowledge of sun salutations or have attended at least two basic flow yoga classes prior to attending. Tea and cookies are served afterwards.
Level II Yoga- Take your yoga practice to the next level with a class that is certain to make you sweat. It is ideal for those seeking a challenging class and have at least one year of level I yoga experience. Advanced balancing poses and inversions will be taught. Tea and cookies are served afterwards.
Hip Goddess Yoga- Does the thought of peaceful music and meditation bore you? This is the perfect class for you! It is a challenging and fun yoga practice that occurs with hip-hop music in the background.
Meditation- Enter a tranquil space to rest your mind, body, and spirit. Guided imagery and journaling techniques will be used to assist with each individual’s experience. Tea and cookies will be served afterwards.
DANCE
Beginning Belly Dance Level I- This class will provide a moderate warm-up that includes strength building and flexibility exercises. Focus will be on muscle isolations, foundation moves, foot patterns and drills. Finger cymbals, footwork and dance combinations are added periodically. This class will build technique and help with your future studies.
Beginning Belly Dance Level II- This class will begin with a moderate warm-up before focusing on isolating muscles to expand upon the foundational moves taught in the level I class. Finger cymbals and dance combinations will be used every week.
Intermediate Belly Dance Technique- This class will be a continuation of the beginning classes. Isolation and layering techniques will be taught both standing and traveling. Finger cymbals will be used every week. Advanced dance combinations will be taught. (Teacher approval recommended)
Tribal Belly Dance- An earthy approach to traditional cabaret-style belly dance will be taught in this class. Students will learn basic movements along with the incorporation of props. A heavy emphasis will be placed on improvisational style dancing to encourage individual expression.
Beginning Pole Dancing- This class combines dancing and gymnastics that involves muscular endurance and coordination. Participants will learn how to correctly hold the pole and perform more athletic moves such as climbs, spins, and body inversions. Upper body and core strength will be emphasized during each class. Pre-Registration is required through Vixen Fitness.
Level I Pole Dancing- This class will build upon the beginning pole dancing class by taking you through 20+ moves including walks, transitions, poses and beginner spins.
Chair Dance- Working out has never looked so good.......even Beyonce has tried it and now it's your turn!
This class will guide you through some sassy lap dance techniques that is sure to give you a workout and put a smile on that someone specials face. Students should dress in form fitting workout attire as this class involves a bit of striptease. Please bring an oversized button down shirt, neck tie and sexy heels.
Creative Dance Movement- Do you love to dance? Do you love a variety of dance techniques? Then this class is for you! The instructor will combine salsa, modern, jazz, hip hop, ballet, belly dance, and other dance movements into one fun and upbeat class. Students will progressively learn every week one full routine. New routines will be taught every two months.
